TresBois
Business Summary
Fact Sheet: TresBois
TresBois is a Danish based biomass project, producing large amounts of wood chip in West Africa, primarily the Ivory Coast.
The Project is based on the idea of cutting down overgrown rubber tree plantations, which until recently has been regarded as waste and has been burned locally in the plantations or sold as local firewood in smaller scale.
The project is founded by two seasoned Africa specialists,
Bo Christensen and Klaus Kroll, whom have been operating in the region on/off since 1999 either in their own projects, or as senior employees in Maersk, Cotecna and other reputable international companies. We hold jointly a solid mix of economical understanding and physical logistical experience on a large scale from Africa and have a vast knowledge of forestry operations.
Our local partner is a well-established Ivorian business man, CEO of a rubber plantation company and board member in Maersk Ivory Coast.
Tres Bois has a draft agreement to supply 50,000 tons of biomass for a Danish client readily available, a contract with a duration of five years. Beside the fixed minimum amount, the purchaser has an option to buy further quantities on sport market prices.
In the Ivory coast TresBois have had discussions with all three major rubber tree plantations and the biomass available far exceeds the capacity, this gap can be reduced as part of an organic growth.
TresBois produce Co2 friendly biomass from plantations that are planned to be replanted, the latest a year after our operations. Instead of leaving the biomass to rot or burned on site, TresBois utilizes the waste and helps heat up Northern Europe. The thermal power companies developed a standard for certification of biomass, standards which TresBois will follow.
